Protea Hotel Blantyre Ryall’s completed the refurbishment of its flagship fine dining restaurant & bar, the 21 Grill.

21 Grill on Hannover Blantyre is rich in heritage and allows for an equally excellent traditional dining experience. The original restaurant first opened in 1969 and this old-world feel was acknowledged and reintroduced in a contemporary manner throughout the space. Upon entry, the traditional charm is realised through the black & white floor tilling and old suitcase table with the map behind leading you into the 25-seater lounge/bar area complete with decorative wallpaper and comfortable High backs and Chesterfields crossing over into the 80-seater restaurant. The design philosophy to bring the exterior inside has been truly realised through these central curved banquet seats surrounding an indigenous lit up “tree”. Aspects of the original carved furniture are still present but reupholstered, new carpet design and colourways enhance the space and allow the original book shelving to shine.
